A powerful video...
"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

Seems like the British have been making some pretty good public service announcements. The "Don't Text and Drive" video was also similarly powerful. Hopefully this one opens peoples eyes.

Woops, just realized it was made by Australians. Either way, it's hands down the best PSA I've seen.

Powerful stuff. Unfortunately a PSA like that would never get shown here because it would be sure to offend someone and God knows we can't have that, lest the producers get sued for telling the truth.

Probably one of the most important four minutes of time I've spent today....
Very Powerful and well done the Australians.
Northern Ireland also run a lot of hard hitting road campaigns, but our pathetic hand wringing Liberal 'Though Police' decided it was too storng for us on the Mainland... and still people are getting killed!Steve Dude

Can't fix stupid. I saw a video of a kid, who had a driver cam installed to monitor his driving, wreck. He decieded to show off for his girlfriend. He started swerving all over the road. He ends up rolling the truck and ejecting himself and his girlfriend. Neither had seatbelts on but both lived.
People truely belive it won't happen to them.FF/Paramedic

Very powerful. I wish videos like this were seen by more people over here in the states.
I dont think people understand that sometimes accidents arent their fault. If anything, it should teach them to be more of a defensive driver, and possibly same someone elses life."You haven't lived until you've found something worth dying for."

Aussie Firey
I'm an Australian firefighter with 5 years in the job and my first 6 month had to attend a double fatality. I can still remember the scene to this day clearly, it however hasn't affected me at all.
Since then i have been to 5 more fatalities, it is something that doesn't happen very often in my area. 3 more were people that i knew and one of those 3 was a mate, these were outside our response area.
I'm also only 28, i live close enough to the state of Victoria to have seen all of these TAC ads on the TV. I will admit here that a number of these ad's did get to me, The "kombi" ad, The one on the TAC youtube site titled "Pictures of You" and the one with the guy that has just got out of the car and then gets cleaned up and the door taken off, that one suprised me with the shock value that you instantly get.
Here is the link to the youtube site: http://www.youtube.com/TACVictoria
Next year i have to give a presentation on RescuED which our brigade (which is statewide) delivers to high school kids who are just reaching driving age (16-17). The TAC video is not part of the presentation but i will be doing what i can do show this during the presentation.
Cheers
Aaron

I wish we could get these hard hitting PSA's here in the States. To all the brothers in other countries that are pushing these commercials: "VERY WELL DONE!!!"
Keep up the good work. If it makes just one person think twice before doing something stupid, it's worth it.
Pete
