    Default IC Checklists

Does anyone use checklists for ICs to use to manage an incident? I'm looking at putting something like this together to make sure all the bases are covered at every type of incident.

    Thanks in advance!

If you research NIMS, you can find all kinds of forms that you can either use or help to develop your own.

I've browsed those but I'm looking for something more specific to things like MVAs, structure fires, etc., and less all-risk oriented.

Do you mean... a Hybrid - field report that covers any kind of operation?

    Something specific to call types:

Structure fire: water supply, utilities, rescue, etc.
MVA: Disconnect battery, stabilize pt, safety line, etc.

This may be a tall order and every call is different but if there's at least something that reminds you of the things that can be forgotten in the heat of the moment.

I used to have a cheat sheet that I had made up and laminated.

I just checked it out.. been a few years.

Some items on there for working fires:
    - Side "A" identified on radio (we had a policy to announce where side "A" was)
    - Safety officer identified over radio
    - Utilities Requested

    That sort of stuff
I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.

"When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water."

    Chief,
If you could find that and send it along, that sounds like exactly what I'm trying to produce. A cheat sheet!

I use the "Dashboard Commander" board that works very well. Items like what Chief was saying are all right on there as my own cheat sheet.

    Default Run sheets

Along the same lines, I was looking for something to use as a run sheet template. Does anyone have anything that they like? And or does anyone have blank NFIRS forms in a word format that I could custimize? I can only find them as PDFs. We are a small volunteer department. We use paper sheets at the time of call then they get entered in the computer for NFIRS. mike_tenkate@yahoo.com Thanks in advance.
