    Default Fire Photos WW 2

Heres a few photos I've scanned from my dad taken during his service in the RCAF in WW2.
First are of a Ventura light bomber crashing in Smithers BC in 1945. It was being ferried from the US to Alaska and then onto Russia. All crew got out OK. Last photo is a typical RCAF fire truck. No water except 500 gal tank supply, crash tender came with CO2 fire extinguishers on board

Few more photos here. I grew up on quite some stories of a different kind of firefighting. My Dad mustered out in 1945 in as Deputy Fire Chief Patricia Bay AFB. Later helped form 2 rural fire co-ops and served more than 35 years on both.

We've got family photos dating back into the 30s. Most have been scanned now and will be kept for the next generations.
