Hey guys, great forum!
Hi everyone,
Wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone for this excellent resource for anyone involved or even interested in the Fire/EMS community.
A short introduction... I'm a 32 year-old average joe on my way to becoming a firefighter. After 15 years as a chef, I've chosen a different path. A brief stint as an EMT has led me to the communications aspect, so now I work as a dispatcher exploring the 911 side of things, although I am eager to return to the field where I can provide direct patient care.
I am an avid competitive cyclist and due to my passion for the outdoors, have a great desire to work the wildland aspect of firefighting.
Thanks again for this awesome tool!

I like everything about you except your handle. LOL Stay in shape of wildland firefighting. Lot of hill climbing and stuff. Participate here often. Second thought better keep your current forum name. Good Luck.

Thanks jam24u, staying in shape (mentally and physically) is definitely the game plan

I must admit I was a little apprehensive that my handle would get some negative feedback. It was definitely not an attempt at humor, I apologize if anyone took it the wrong way. I only meant that you should keep trying every moment of your life and never give up on anything.... whatever it is you do.
Hmmm... yeah maybe I should choose a different name...

Paincourtville Volunteer Fire Department

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

I like this better anyway
Thanks guys for the feedback and the warm welcome

I do plan on sticking around, so instead of the old name 'DieTryin', I'll be posting under 'synergy' from now on... I'm looking forward to participating in the forums and soaking up all the very useful info offered up by everyone here.
