Hi All,
In our new pumper/tender spec Rosenbauer has specified Zico UHH-1 helmet holders to make the cab NFPA compliant.
Does anyone have any experience with these... are they decent, should we be looking for something else?
Also, seems like you have to have a hook on the back of your helmet to use this system, is that correct? Most of our helmets don't have that now so we'd have to add them, I guess.
Any info / experience with this system would be appreciated.

It's a shame you have to waste money on such a thing.
It takes a little intelligence to enjoy humor, satire & wit, but none to be offended by it.

You may find that the UHH-2 will be a better fit for your department. It holds the helmet in place via the D ring that just abut every helmet has and fits more styles than the UHH-1. You can take a look at both of them at Ziamatic.com.

I have bucked many other trends so why not this one. I have fought City Hall and lost so I am speaking my mind here.

Before too long we'll all be purchasing PPE/SCBA Response vehicles. You know... that pick up truck with a rescue body tat carrys our PPE/SCBA's to the scene for us becasue some how some way I'm sure NFPA will find a way to say that SCBA's in a rig is dangerous and so is wearing your turnout gear while on the way to a job.
All they need to do is figure out a way that it will line someones pockets and try to word it so that people actually buy into their method of thinking. It takes a little intelligence to enjoy humor, satire & wit, but none to be offended by it.
