Not so much what I found, but the nice payback to the kid. I was working at the station Christmas Eve and when I called home, he asks if he can open presents before I get home, I told him no. So he proceeds to instruct me to come right home when the "other guy" gets there and not to drink any coffee or talk to anybody. I laughed it off.

Christmas day comes and I was still waiting for my relief and sat down, had some coffee, started BSing. The phone rings, it is the kid wondering where I am, told him still waiting for a relief and he is coming from another station. He tells me not to drink any more coffee and to come right home (As if the kid was watching me). Me relief shows up about 5 to 7, he was working for another guy and went to a different station and didn't see the roster change, so he got in later than he wanted to.

Before the kid hung up though and telling me no more coffee and come right home he says, "I'm under a lot of pressure here" having to wait.

    Ahhh patience from a 9 y/o....what a great present.

seeing as we had a huge wind event come through christmas eve night that blew down hundreds of trees we found all sorts of goodies "under" the trees

but seriously, the fat man was gracious enough to leave me a new bullard wildland FF helmet, a new set of structural FF gloves, and a first responder bag with basic FR supplies

I hung a nice pair of stocking by the fireplace hoping Santa would fill them with something nice; empty again.

That's what you get for hanging around the forums at santasworkshop.com telling all the elves how much more you know about toymaking, and all things Christmas-related than they do.

Or is this the only place you do that?

Nice new pair of Thorogood station boots, the slip on kind without laces. And a nice quiet Xmas Eve night (only 4 runs after 10:00pm- 2 ems, 1 AFA, and a car fire)....

Nothing. That is a very dangerous device. You need to box it up and send it to me. I will even give you $4 for your troubles.

I got the denero to buy my Phenix TL-2, some gift cards and some rounds for the Glock. Isn't it amazing how much the gift receiving aspect of Christmas looses importance as you grow older? I had a much better time watching my nephews enjoy all of thier gifts all morning.

On a side note, I bought my father a Surefire G2L, and that thing is awesome. Going to buy one for myself this week.

Christmas is about giving... not getting.... and giving doesn't necessarily mean gifts or money...

    Absolutely!.......

We, as a Family, were happy that we could all get together for Christmas. Biggest Present was that Grandson David made it home from Afghanistan to be with everyone..........

Our department sponsored 4 families this year at 500 a piece. It's such a rush to give them the things they needed.

Our whole town does that for some families every year. People from the community buy the presents and give them to a church who then have the families come and pick them up, you can tell how grateful the people are when you give them their gifts for their children.
