    Post battle creek

Im trying to get some info on bcfd. I know they are testing, but are they hiring?
If so how secure will the jobs be?
How long does the list last?
How many steps (im out of state)?
Is it a basic civil service style test?
    Anything else worth knowing??

    Thank you for your knowledge..

Thanks for the interest in BCFD. We are currently 11 slots short of what we are budgeted for. They will likely fill some of those spots but not all. The jobs seem to be as secure as any in this economy, being that we are so short handed. There has been no mention of layoffs yet.

The biggest draw back for someone out of state is that it's a 5 step process. There's a written, physical, civil service panel, chief's interview, then psych test.

Otherwise good luck on the test. It's a good department and I've been happy here.

I have applied to BCFD and was wondering if my qualifications would hurt me?
I am trained up to Fire Officer III in Michigan, I have had issues with other departments because of this.

    Thanks Dave

I don't see why that would be a problem. Good luck in the testing.
