good afternoon,
I am getting ready to start a 67 hour academy in the middle of January and I was wondering if anybody had in helpful hits on ways I can stand out in the academy.
Also, I am wondering on what type of equipment I might need to bring. I have reached out to the training department and they are out till the 5th.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Ah, gotcha. I'm from the midwest. When we have brush fires, we call it "making popcorn."
Thanks!

They will tell you what you will need, and probably supply it too.

Well, just finished the CDF academy and it turned out to be 120 hours of class/field time. It was a good class and it made me really excited to get out of this desk jockey Job, i have right now. I have a fever and the only thing that will cure it, is a job in the fire service. I applied to every unit in Norther Cal and BDU, Riverside and San Diego. I have 3 interviews for siskiyous,Humboldt, Shasta trinity Unit up north this month and i am really Excited. Lets just hope i dont get fired before i get hired so i can afford the road trips this winter.
Let me know if anyone has any hints for interviewing up north.

Hey there, I was searching Cal Fire and came across this thread. I have the same interviews scheduled and I was curious if anyone has ever interviewed with them before? Any tips or anything would be great.
