    Default Please stop the insanity!!!

I'm imploring the Webteam to reconsider this decision to close every thread inactive for 60 days. That is a VERY SHORT period of time. I think it will change the face of FH in a huge way!! There's going to be a ton of new threads started where there was no need. No more follow-up or updates on stories we've followed in the past, say when a court decision is rendered on a thread posted a year ago, a new thread would need to be started and all the same old questions and discussion would be repeated. Might as well disable the search button.

PLEASE reconsider this decision. Or compromise and say, shut down threads over 2 or 3 years old instead (which I balk at as well, why fix something that isn't broken??!!!). Surely there are other issues or improvements that are more important than this?

Agree 100%. It makes NO sense to bump up an old thread to post that it's going to be closed. If you want to close threads (which I find VERY stupid), just close them, don't make them active and THEN close them.

Webteam has obviously never moderated a forum before.

Some people have been complaining about the webteam and such, but I have not been here enough to know what they are like.

But its possible things are going down the tubes because the company that owns firehouse is in bankrupty and our cutting staff.

Just do as I did. Go into those "warning" threads and post "Posting here to keep it alive."

    Works like a charm!
"This thread is being closed as it is off-topic and not related to the fire industry." - Isn't that what the Off Duty forum was for?
