Has anyone else had their DUNS number changed without them letting you know?
They called doing a random check to verify that we are who we say we are and the city clerk thought they were calling for the Police Department. So the DUNS group changed all of our information to the police department. I talked with them this morning at DUNS and they said they would just have to issue us a new one which they did but she wouldn't tell me how long ago it got changed my estimates that it was a couple of years ago.
Last year we made it to the final round of DJ's on a new tanker. Can anyone tell me if they think this might have hurt us on not receiving the tanker we had a rock solid grant application that met all of the criteria thanks to alot of help from the guru's.
Thanks for your inputs in advance.

The DUNS issue wouldn't have caused your denial. If there was an issue, it would have been clarified during Technical Review and you would have been contacted.

Wouldn't the DUNS Number be issued to the municipality? In this case the city? I didn't think that they issued individual numbers to various entities withing the same municipal government...

You are correct according to DUNS, we are not part of the municipality we are volunteer.
I talked with the AFG office today and they said that they don't worry about the DUNS number we just have to have one to get grants. He also said that our grants have not gotten to our grants to reveiw them yet. Does anyone know what this means?

It depends upon if he meant technical review or peer panel. If he meant peer panel that's a gloom and doom sign guy, sorry. If he meant not to tech review then that would mean you survivied peer review and are awaiting them to catch up on paperwokr. Keep your fingers crossed. If the first round of DJ notices drop and you don't get one, that would be an encouraging sign.

You are correct. Peer review for 09 AFG was completed shortly after Sept 1 this past year. Do not confuse peer review with the technical review. They are 2 different animals.Tech review is done by the Fire Program Specialist/Subject Matter Experts fomr AFG prior to award to determine compliance with max award amounts for reductions, checking if all your past reporting is up to date etc.
