A new award reference # was posted on our 1199a page in the middle of December 2009. We have not received a 1199a update email or any type of notification yet. Should I contact FEMA or continue to wait? I'm nervous that we haven't heard anthing. Thanks

You should just wait until they contact you. As part of your 10Qs e-mail, they will inquire whether any changes have been incurred since your previous awards.
8a) Do you have any changes to your DUNS number, EIN number or your banking information listed in your application?
If the banking information was correctly entered on this year's application, and it was different than previous years, you would have received contact when they updated your 1199A form.
DHS is collecting documentation to complete and authenticate your Assistance to Firefighters Grant application. This documentation is necessary for further review of your application.
According to our records, you have changed your routing number and/or account number:
Currently, the Direct Deposit information is:
Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx
Routing Number: xxxxxxxxxx
The application you submitted for a previous grant application contains the following information:
Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx
Routing Number: xxxxxxxxxx
To ensure that we have the correct information on file, we have released your Direct Deposit(1199A) information. Please make the necessary changes and submit the form electronically. Then, using the Print 1199A Button, print a copy and take it to your bank to have the bottom portion completed.

It can take up to 3 weeks until you receive a confirmation. Just sit back and relax for now; things are looking good.

Same Worries
Hockeyfire,
I feel your pain. We have a new truck request listed now on our old award 1199A but have heard absolutely nothing official. I sent an email in stating there were no changes to the 1199A but have heard nothing from that as well. Would feel better if 10Qs or something showed up.

Listen,
I faxed my updated 1199 in on dec. 21st. I still haven't gotten a confirmation email, but I did get both of my 10 Q's.
you might consider sending them an email requesting confirmation of receipt of the fax, but imagine you might get your confirmation or 10 Q's before they respond to the email.
I get the feeling that have stacks of stuff and they are working their way through as it lays.

Yep, i'm guessing that they're loaded up pretty good on 1199's and 10q's about now, and responding as there is either need or time. Even though we're all curious...every time we call in and absorb 5 minutes of staff time, it's 5 minutes further from award. If we have a need--i call 'em or write 'em. But...other than that, i try my best to let them get a little work done. If you got a good fax transmittal, it's in the pile. And if they for some reason don't get what they are asking for--you'll know about it 'cuz they seem to have pretty good tracking systems.
All that said--for those who do have a need to call--definitely try to get any info you can for the rest of us!!!!

10Qs Arrived
Hockey,
My 10Qs showed up about 3 hours after I said I was still waiting as well. They did not show on the AFG message page which I had been watching like a hawk, only in my contact email which my wife was reading at home. She assumed I had it also and didn't call me. So here she is celebrating away, she's a FF also, and I'm sitting here chewing down pencils.
Anyway, no phone calls or other emails to acknowledge anything prior to the 10Qs. No 1199A request for changes, nothing.
So your 10Qs will come.

Questions
I am only seeing instructions to mail the 1199A form back. I don't see anywhere that it talks about FAXing. Is FAXing ok? If so, where do you find the FAX number.
Also, what is the check digit blank on the form in the bank section? Our bank didn't know what that meant.

From Grant Mgt. Tutorial:
Once completed, fax the SF-1199A from to DHS/FEMA Grants Management at 301-998-8699, Attention 1199-A Specialist. Make sure you keep the original copy in your grant file.
