We get 8 hours of pay at our 8 hour rate for 11 holidays whether we work them or not. The holiday pay gets added to our last check in November. For me it worked out to an extra $2200.

We get paid if working or not. Pay runs from 1397.00 to 2360.00 depending on rank and time in grade. We have 11 recognized holidays.

10 recognized holidays. 8 hours of extra pay if you're off-duty, 12 extra hours if you're on duty.

There's about 13 "holidays" throughout the year. We get a flat $10/hr for actual time worked (on a 24 hr shift this is either 16.5 or 7.5 hours). We also get 3 floating holidays per year.

Nothing for us, just a regular duty day. A shift gets the worst deal since they work the holidays 2 of 4 years.

Straight pay for working holidays. However, we get 5 1/2 shifts to take off during the year. Picks go by seniority, after vacation days are picked. Only two people allowed off per shift, three during "big pay periods" (240 hour pay cycle, 28-day cycle). Picking gets slim if you're low man on the list.

We get 48 hours of holiday pay a year, can be used anyway we want to. We have to use or we lose it at the end of the year. Most of us just use it as extra vaction days.

not sure exactly how many holidays we get but we get more than most departments. If we are on duty we get an additional 16 hours pay. If we are off that day we get 11.2 hours. Just to give you an idea of what I meant by more holidays paid then most departments, we get full holidays for christmas eve and day new years eve and day and thanksgiving day and the day after. that is just a couple of the unusual ones.

We get paid for 106 hours of hoiliday time. In January, we get a check for the previous year's time. There are complications, like if you decide to take some days off, your holiday time balance can be diminished accordingly. Most guys get the 106 hour check, kinda like getting an extra pay and a half.

Also city has proposal in for this upcoming arbitration award where if we are suspended, that would forcibly come from our holiday time rather than us take the suspension. Right now we have the option to take the suspension, or have them take it out of holiday/vacation/administrative time. Taking the suspension creates an OT chance for someone else, and the chiefs will usually try to make a suspended guy whole with an extra OT if possible, esp. if it was a BS offense.

We get 144 hours of holiday time to take off during the year, use it or lose it per calendar year. We get 12 hours per holiday for New Year's Day, MLK, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Sept. 11, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. We get the 12 hours regardless of whether we are on duty on the actual holiday or not. If you work the entire shift on July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, you get an extra 12 hours pay (or Comp time for exempt employees)

1.5x if your assigned to work that day
2x if your assigned pre-scheduled OT that day
2.5 if your heldover or if your called in on OT that day.

    very nice.

we get 10 paid holidays per year, plus 1 personal holiday that may be used before the end of the fiscal year. if one is scheduled to work on the holiday, we simply get the day back to be taken off (usually scheduled for us, though we can swap out)

We get 12 holidays per year. If the holiday is your shift day, you are paid time and a half for 24 hours, in addition to your normal salary. If you are off for the holiday, you get 12 hours of straight pay. Pretty nice, makes up for our low amount of sick leave.

We have 11 holidays per year.
If you work the DAY OF the holiday, you get 12 hours of overtime
If you work a day other than the DAY OF the holiday and City is "closed", you get 12 hours straight time pay.
Weekends DO NOT count as a day no matter what.

For example, if Christmas day is Thursday and City is "closed" on Thursday and Friday for that holiday:
Duty crews on Thursday gets 12 hours of overtime pay.
Everyone else gets 12 hours straight time on Thursday.
And so the crew who worked Thursday is OFF on Friday but they will get 11 hours straight time as well. 12 OT plus 12 straight time for both days.

And since the City is "closed" on Friday as well, everyone gets 12 hours straight time pay.

But, only 2 shifts usually benefit from this option at any given time....but, it seems to be "fair" to every shift as the year rolls around.

This system keeps the City in check as to them saying F it, we aint working because the holiday is on Wed and it would be nice to have Thurs and Fri off to make a nice long weekend. Fine, don't work, but pay us extra while you are sipping your wine and we are (or aren't) working. Nice little addition by the lawyers on our behalf
