Now I can be pretty sarcastic at times, and may even try to stretch things a little bit to get people excited, but I received a phone call from a US Congressman's office this evening at 7:30 pm. Talk about getting the heart racing and have the music playing for the happy dance!!! I answered the phone, and they hung up on me as soon as I said hello?????? Now what is up with that????? I even tried calling the number back and got the after hours recording. We are not even in the district of the congressman that called. Anyone have a successful narrative for an AED. I need a jump start here!!! I figure this prank phone call is Gods way of telling me we needed a new thread to post on when the calls actually take place and someone talks. So here we go.

If you get a call later from the same number, we expect you to tell us what the subject was. No matter what it was.

Kelly, That is just not right! I do admit I got a good laugh out of it. I can just see you there with your eyes wide when you looked at the caller ID

Kelly,
Maybe it's time to write for an exhaust system for your station. I think the fumes are starting to get to you!!
We have a funny congressional issue here also. I've got calls from the wrong Congressman for the last three awards. I suspect the same thing will happen again this year.

The number was for Congressman Murphy from the 18th district. It was a (412) area code. Who did the calls for you Bruce?? They can call me anytime to congratulate on an award!!!

Does your congressman always call when awarded?

It's interesting how that works. One congressman has called us every year. Last year or the year before, I got a call from our newest Senator, two weeks after the award. She even sent out a press release telling how she was responsible for the funding, even though she was elected after the application period.

Had one in IL take credit for getting a department their tower last year, after 5 years of not getting it on their own (only applied on their own 2 times before in 5 years, but let's not let the details ruin the story...). Also blamed his predecessor for not doing enough to get it funded.
Funny part is that they were announced 2 weeks before election day and the press release was in February from the newbie.
