Noticed today that there is an "R" at the end of my app number on my FSC grant. I can't help but
1. fear that it means "Rejected" and
2. hope that it means "Righteous".
Anybody had any dealings with this?

our grant also has the "r" on it.....i have been assuming that it means "renovation"......
we are needing to expand our sleeping quarters, i called afg about 3 weeks ago to ask about dear johns so we could get started on the project (if we were denied) and i was told that every department is still in the running for funds.....
i asked about a timeline for denial notification and i was told hopefully by august (that helps....NOT!)... . we don't want to start our renovation without dj notification, so we are kind of stuck, just like everyone else.....

Our station app also has an "R". Since we have had no other communication on this app, I'm afraid "Rejected" is probably correct.

Well, we can "r"ule out "r"enovation because ours is for new construction. Unfortunately, "Rejected" "r"emains in play.

We also had an "R" at the end of our application and we submitted our SCG Grant for a new station. I assume it may mean "reviewed?" I called the help line in November of 2009 as we haven't heard anything yet. I was told that we should all know something by the end of the year. I assumed they meant 2009! To date, we have not heard any news on our grant application and our building plans are basically on hold until I can go to my council and tell them that we are getting some funding or we are not getting funding. It reminds me of being in the Army and the ole "Hurry Up and Wait!"

Its nothing new to the applications.

Nope, all wrong. The R stands for Recovery Funding. Any Federal Grant out there right now has that "R" at the of the number. I am working 2 for LE folks that have that.

Its really amazing but, ARRA stimulus funding was proposed to create jobs and according to the link above, there has been a number of jobs created so far ( Fla reporting 29K jobs) but, when you go search your state (for just the DHS grants given and start looking) I see funding awarded in Sept of 2009 and to date, none of them ( at least in Fla) are reporting that the funds have created any jobs. Why did I this NOT surprise me!Go figure!

Nashville TV station doing a report on that subject this week. In TN it seems that 6 million bucks has created 6 temp jobs.

They have already awarded about 104 grants if I recall correctly. There will be a second round of about 35-40 more grants as they were supposed to award 150 grants total. When that will happen is anyone's guess. If something is going to hapen for you, you will get a call from a specialist asking various questons and emails asking you to answer detailed questions about your project. Nobody still waiting has had that happen yet.

You missed the footnotes. You need to check Annex Z (not public). This details votes purchased. This is the actual intent of the program. Midterm elections are still months any so there is minimal payback from spending $ todate. Look for it.
If you have previously demonstrated that the dead vote or can deliver mulitple votes per registered voter your project will have a higher payback.
