First Day

Well I had my first shift after the academy and it was great. Here is a quick breakdown by 6:45am I was soaked and this went on all day. I had 4 uniforms with me and all of them got soaked. Everytime I turned around someone new was busting my balls about something. Then 5 hours in my shift we got a fire and all I can say is WOW! I am hooked and love this job! My crew at the fire was very helpful and showed me different things and answered all my questions. That all ended as soon as we got back to the firehouse. It was back to getting joked on and getting wet. I cant wait to go back to work.

Lexington KY we had a class of 27 and 24 made it out of the academy.

Welcome aboard. Keep your head down and your mouth closed. Introduce yourself to people you have not met. Keep a red rag in your pocket. If it moves, salute it. If it doesn't clean it....
