Well the homepage for all government grants is grants.gov, but that can take practice finding what you want.

firegrantsupport.com is one of the logical locations for the fire grants.

FEMA or DHS can lead you to grant opportunities too.

Your state fire marshalls office and state forestry dept.

I think the website firerescue1.com has a grant seach page too. or volunteerfd.org. (not sure it was such a good idea to post those sites here)

Bring a large pad of paper with you to write down all the info Kurt passes out. I filled 14 pages with notes from his class in addition to the handouts.

A lot of it was in my own form of shorthand. long hand would have been twenty pages at least. :-} Are you getting this wonderful rainy blow down your way ? 3-4 inches of rain already today with winds topping 60 mph.

If you are going to Kurts class, also bring some very warm clothes..... Depending on where you are at, or if you have a wireless card you can check out some of the sites that he will give you as well. Make you a list of questions for him, and have an open bar tab, or just bring a barrell to keep him occupied.

I love how he says Tampa has 72 degrees today. Wonder what will happen during the Summit and Kurt arrives?

Derrick, I can vouch for Kurt that when he was in Dixon, it was just miserably cold. No snow. It was like -14 one morning when we left to head to class though. Unfortunately there was no "brine" coffee to warm us up though

Ya know ever since class up at Earl's, the coffee here at our station just doesn't taste the same. Hey on the bright side, my kids don't have to be driven 10 hours just to go sledding...
