starting a new explorer post

Hi you guys ,the city of Albany NY fire department is starting a new fire explorer post. We're looking for any help or information you could give us. Basically whats worked and what hasn't, what you guys were using for lesson plans, etc. No other city locally has started one so we're starting from scratch, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am doing the same in my department in the Charleston sc area, a word of advice that has helped me out a whole lot that I have recieved from a few people, look online at different explorer posts and see what they do and forms they use. Are you using boy scouts of america learning for life program? its also a very good resource. Big advantage that we have with ours and that you will have also is that you can tailor it to fit your needs and how you want to mold and shape it.
