Bugle it sure would be nice if it only took 6 rounds to finish. This close to 2010 start it would help planning out a bunch

Could you imagine being a sales rep if that were to happen? The few I've talked to already aren't looking forward to the surge they expect with the large first few rounds.

If it's the goal of the AFG to have all the awards out by the start of the 2010cycle, which is tentatively set for March 29th, they have 8 weeks to do so. That means they have to award over 700 per week to get it accomplished.

    Will it happen?...I'm skeptical.

Do you feel these will continue weekly as in the past or will we see weeks without awards ? Any idea when we will see 1199a & 10 questions start to be sent out again ?

You should see weekly announcements, I really do not foresee anything that would prevent that from happening even upcoming holidays.

I would hope that we would see some new 1199A's & q's next week now that a big round of awards went out. All depends on what they have for a back log now.

And now likely to be months to get your TO gear, hose, etc instead of the few weeks that has been the case. Last Akron stuff I got was about 2 weeks.

Awards are going to take until May, it will drop back to the 200-300 range but will be every Friday until they're out. All denials and pre-award movement will be done before 2010 opens, probably 2nd week of March. Expect comp DJs shortly, 1st Peer DJs right after that.

I am in the list, received the 10 Q's about two weeks ago, answered them and have not heard a word yet. I hope I hear something next week, I need to let our city know the amount so they can add it to their budget before submitting it for approval mid Feb.

It is better to go ahead and let them add it now. If it doesn't come to pass no harm done. It will be listed as pass thru funds anyway so if you don't have money in there will be no money out.

I am on both sides of the coin here. I am a salesman and on a department that got our 10qs and 1199A but did not get in on round one. As a salesman I CANT wait to be busy again. With most of the departments in my area holding out for AFG it has been very slow. The Firefighter side of me cant wait to see our name on the list to pick up some much needed gear.

Ask your city clerk how they want to handle this. You might want to wait till the money is in hand before placing it into next years budget. With it in there you're already counting the chicken before it hatched. Plus you might get awarded this budget and not after July 1st budget so you would have to reflect that amount in last years budget.

The clerk would have to amend the budget either way last years or after July
    1st.
