You'll be able to check your application's budget to see any adjustments.

Hitting the vehicle without the ops puts you in a category many would sure like to be in.

I really expected to hit on the ops and get denied on the veh. We open the bids this Friday. I am 1/2 on vehicles and 3/3 on ops not counting the one we are still waiting on. Even if we get denied on the ops I am very happy to get the vehicle.

Positive side to this: 72 days without a DJ.

    Default any chance?

I was one of the lucky round 5 awardies for operation and safety. I still have a vehicle grant for a much needed tanker in the mix I have recieved no reduction, 1199 or DJ as of yet. Is there still a chance it canbe awarded? If I have not recieved a DJ yet did I get past that pesky computer? thanks in advance for the time it takes to answer.

No DJs are out yet. Should be verrrrrry soon for computer DJs. If you make it past that first round of denials, you made peer.

What was your request amount for the tanker?

I'm in the same boat as Kardsfan (Titanic??) Just got $37,000.00 ops grant for new hose, AED,s and such. Waiting (ever sooo patiently) for good news on my vehicle ap to replace a 1977 tanker. Requested $135,000.00 (upped our 5% match to close to 24% to improve the odds a bit...) Hope it works: we have around 50k and will be nowhere near the cost of a tanker without assistance for a good 8 - 10 more years... still paying off building & new pumper loans so additional loans out of the question...

$266,000 total which is way high but it includes everything such as communications and dispatch equipment plus couplings needed for out autoaid agreementand other odds and ends that add up. Everything is broken down in the details portion really on $200,000 for the tanker portion. Hopefully I got throught the computer program already putting to get next years plan. just curious. thanks for the info.

In the past, Tankers have been awarded at $250,000 so you can check your budget to see if you have a reduction.

Wow, 250K for a tanker! I asked for $182.5K. Of course we are only looking for a 2000 to 2200 gallon tanker w/ 500gpm pump. We have small roads and need something really nimble. We are trying to replace a 1984 converted milk tanker with 5 speed manual gas engine with a split rear end. It is about to fall apart. I hope we get it.

KME is notoriously high on tankers. But a used one at a quarter mil is still absurd.

It's probably a war wagon, prices can climb on the customs with 500HP, 8 man cabs, 2000gpm pumps and whatnot. Basic units shouldn't be that high, and certainly shouldn't be in a grant app since they won't fund that high.

Ahhh, the good of days of speed shifting the split shift. Will you catch it just right or will it kick out and make you start over. You know sometimes you just miss days like that. It was not exactly safe but it could be a lot of fun.

Done that a few times, grind it till I have a pound, let it kick in then shift for another pound. Of course the old steel milk tank with rusted out baffles helps things a lot. Kinda makes it walk a bit on you. It was top line when we built it back in 1984 (long before my time). I can only hope, pray and wait for an award to replace it. We have had to purchase an engine because ours was costing way too much to keep putting money into it so we no longer have a means to purchase a tanker.

Your description of the above made me cringe from the memories. Stop it, your burning out my memory of double clutching as well.
