I tried to look around the web and in a few forums for answers but came up with nothing so i figured i'd post a question.
I plan on get certified as a EMT-B over the summer. My question is how is the job market out there for EMT-B's in Chicago? I know you could get hired working for a private ambulance company, which is pretty much what I was looking for, but are these companies hiring? I have a clean driving record so maybe that would help with a job? Thanks.
I'm in the same boat as you, but also wondering if anyone knows, roughly, the starting pay at some of these private companies?
I work for one of the private companies we make 9.00 as a basic + call pay if all paperwork is filled out fully. I also work as a third on a fire department as just a basic I make 13.00 The private I work for is a good company. my advice is to check around with the differant companies find out about them.Talk to the employes if you can. there are some companies who work more in the city of chicago and others that work in the suburbs.
