Firemedic57; Looks like you’re not getting any response from anyone. I have a TI narrative that was awarded a few years ago on a CEDAP grant. Don’t know if that will help or not. It is a little deferent than the AFG and it has been a while since I looked at it but it may help. I will make myself a note to find it and PM it to you. It will be Tuesday before I can get that done. Have a good day.

npfa 1801
I might be missing something, but after a 20 minute review of 1801 it appears to me the standard defines the manufacture, testing and significant operational features need to be compliant.
It doesn't say anywhere in 1801 that you need a TIC for every truck or team etc. What are you going to quote, that the unit you wish to purchase will comply with NFPA 1801 -2010? I would hope it did.
If I'm missing something I'm the first to be set straight but if I'm right be careful what NFPA you quote and how your statements read.

Without looking for God knows how long, I can't think of any NFPA standard off the top of my head that "requires" a TIC.
However, you can reinforce with what the industry standard is. Anymore, it is essential that the primary entry team and the RIT/RIC/FAST team both have cameras. These are easily reinforced in a narrative, I would think (never done a TIC myself). I saw something recently that even cited that a TIC should be utilized during the initial 360 walk-around, as well as for the Incident Safety Officer to utilize throughout the incident.
Of course, you always have the option of looking at excess funds. I recieved a quote on a TIC not too long ago for a good, name brand TIC for around $5,200.
