My name is Colby Burgess i'm a Volunteer Firefighter for Cedar Fort Fire Department Recently The Cedar Fort Fire Department had to retire our front line engine a 1980 American LaFrance due to a pump failure and having the piping all rusted through. Were now using our back-up engine a 1970 American LaFrance that we have to use starter fluid and sometimes jump the batteries because it's a bugger to start. Were a small town with a small budget, but we need an engine to protect out citizens. If anyone knows a Department surplusing any engines PLEASE e-mail me with contact information at xxuhpxx@yahoo.com Thanks!
Sincerely,
Firefighter/EMT-I

As for fire departments surplusing any engines, I can't help you there, but I did a quick craigslist search. I don't know how new you're looking to go, or any specifics, but heres what I found.
http://iowacity.craigslist.org/rvs/1618095751.html
http://madison.craigslist.org/cto/1608245617.html (this probably isn't at all what you're looking for as it is primarily a tanker, but I thought I would include it anyway.)
Also, this site has used trucks for sale. 1st link is for Pumpers 85 and newer. Second link is for 84 and older Pumpers.

Hope this helps. I know it's not EXACTLY what you were looking for, but hopefully it helps.
EDIT: I kept browsing and found some more sites.

Again, hope this helps at all.Last edited by Chenzo; 02-25-2010 at 10:34 PM.

I know how that is. Small town and small budget here too. There are some reasonably priced rigs on those sites, and the two craigslist postings are relatively cheap, but I can't comment on the reliability of either. What's your price range? If I hear of something, I can give you a heads up.
