    Default PPE Question...

anybody ever have any luck in replacing >10 year old turnout gear for a rural department with population less than 1,000 and call volume less than 100 calls per year???

Any chance this application would make it past the computer round?

yes of course it would if you write it correctly. And it will more than likely get funded as well.

PPE is a high priority item if you read the rest of these posts. Also, I would suggest attending one of the weekend classes from the various array of grant writers on this forum as they are very knowledgable.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you!

I have a company with less than >2 square mile district, >70 calls a year, >500 population

Total sets of gear, 28. Over 10 years was 11. Replaced 11.

    Funded in Round 3.

    Thanks All...

PPE is obviously highest priority, however, I wasn't sure about how the small population and low call volume would impact the computer scoring.

    Talking

Remember the highest priority of the AFG is Firefighter safety. top of the scoring matrix is PPE and SCBA as long as you meet the minimum criteria.

We got a nieghboring department funded in 2007 for TO, hose, and nozzles that has less than 30 calls a years and only reported 4 structure fires on the application. Since then they have been awarded SCBA, Engine, and complete air compressor/fill-station.

I got you beat on population Jam but you win on square miles

Pop of town 95, 64 square miles to cover, avg about 10-15 fire calls a year.

2003 T/O Gear, Wildland Gear, and equipment
    2007 SCBA's & equipment
    2009 T/O Gear, pagers, & equipment
