Good morning,
Does anyone out there still use, offer or promote the 911 Beacon porch lights? Its been about 15 years since we had some and I was asked to look back into the cost benefit, program outcomes, grant opportunities, and program problems or benefits.
Stay safe!

Never heard about it, bur sounds like it went the way of the "tot finder" window stickers
alos, guess if you could hit the switch most of the time should be able to walk out of the house and wave at the fire truck as it goes by!!!!!!

So true. Like I said I did this along time ago (15+), the program ony lasted un til I ran out of the initial granted bulobs. However a new District Trustee recvd some info and I was told to check into current programs offered and possible grant funding. Still waiting to hear back from the company that makes them, so far not impressed.
Stay safe,
Paula

Not sure what the 911 Beacon Porch Light program was but there is a product out now, 911 Light, that I think is a very worthwhile program. This light connects to the telephone, between the phone and the jack, and a strobe light mounted near the front door will come on when 911 is dialed. Dont have to flip any switch. Just dial 911 and the light starts flashing. There is a code to dial in to the phone to stop the light when help arrives. Cost is about $35 each I think. Just google 911 light and see what you find. Only hold back is it must be a landline. Wont work with cell phones.
