    Default Rural Aerial

What are the chances of our department being awarded and aerial when classified as a rural department due to population? Are we wasting our time? If we are not wasting our time, would a snozzle qualify our is it basically a 75' or so aerial only?

    Need some info...

    Ages of your current apparatus?
Do you current have an aerial?
Number of 4 story or greater buildings in your primary area?
    Call volume?
Are you a rural, suburban, or urban department?
What exact type of apparatus are you planning to request?

we cover a small texas city and run rural area of 97 square miles

we are in the process of building a small rural sub-station to place the old 1986 pumper to get the iso lower in the rural setting. But we are looking to write for a quint because no other town in the county has one. One is 45 mins away in another county....

I think priority one for a rural aerial is less than 76'. Have you had many runs that would dictate the need for an aerial?

Rural can only pull off a 75' as lime said. Also makes the request to be the same category as the 2004 pumper and 1992 pumper/tanker. But worse thing they can say is no....

Talk to E-One. Their Tradition 75' quint is in that ballpark. Nice enough unit and will do the job fine. Just doesn't have the bells/whistles and limited option list of that $675k Pierce.

Not really going to matter much, $500k is the 75' limit for quints. Bare bones units is all they're running, that's why it's stil $750k for 100' anything.
