2010 Fire Season Predictions

Hey all, what are your predictions for the 2010 fire season? Here in Arizona, in the Tucson area we've been getting a lot of rain lately. It's been constantly raining since late January, which has led to a lot of brush growth, but my captain and fire manager are saying it could be a short season since it's so wet. However, fire officials have gone on the news saying this new brush growth could spark an intense fire season. Guess we'll have to wait to see who's right.

What are your predictions for your areas? I hear that up in the Northwest they haven't gotten much rain or snow, so everything's pretty dry. Haven't heard much about California though.

we have gotten little snow this year, and little rain i think its gonna be a smokey spring.

I beleive in Texas we are supposed have a dry summer and stay dry into next winter. With the good amounts of rain we have recieved this past winter, I am predicting a busy late summer and winter fire season for us.

Tucson and Cal will have their seasonal fires. Theres always the dumb***** who tosses out the cigarette to start a fire.

One thing about the rain and snow... it usually stops falling.

I can make no predictions at this time due to the diverisity of the global weather machine.

But if I chose to make a prediction... I'll bet I have a 50% chance of being correct any given location on any given day.
