So wat r u guys times schedules for the fire academy starting monday
I hope to be called for the next class, whenever that is. I don't currently live in cleveland - i recently bought a home at a west side suburb. Heard the dept gives preference to residents for promotion exams. Would like to know if there have been recent promotions to non-residents? Just wondering
Is there anyone that is ranked in the 60s or 70s that's in the academy class now??????
Anyone hear feedback on how the current fire academy class is progressing? Also, does anyone have info on if the city is still planning to put on a second class later this year?
In preparation of complete integration of Divisions of Fire and EMS
On Monday six Division of EMS paramedics will enter the Fire Training Academy for eight weeks of fire operations training. This is the next step toward complete integration of the Divisions of Fire and EMS. They will join the current fire cadets for the remainder of their training.
Each EMS employee already has a State of Ohio Firefighter II certification. This eight week training will prepare them to operate within the Division of Fire as a cross trained firefighter-paramedic, capable of mitigating fire and medical emergencies. Once completed, they will return to their current assignment at EMS pending the formation of the dual-role position.
These six employees and close to 50 firefighter-paramedics that are already members of the Division of Fire will be eligible to move into the new all hazard position, thus bringing the new integrated division into full operation.
Through the integration the City of Cleveland will build on the strengths of the two divisions, eliminate redundant operations and increase race and gender participation in the dual-role, all hazard response operation. These six EMS employees represent that commitment.
Any info on second class for academy
