I have several good friends in a neighboring department that has handed over money to Wolverine and is still waiting on their truck. They purchased the chassis on their own, but Wolverine has their hands on it, along with the funds for materials for the truck. Anyone have any further insight on this?

Here's some verbage that we have used in our specs for many years. We've never had to draw on it, so I don't know how well it would hold up in court.

"In the event that the Company would elect to purchase the vehicle chassis separately, or to pay for it when it is delivered to the contractor, the successful bidder shall provide the Company with:

Certificate(s) of insurance from its insurance company evidencing coverage for the chassis while the chassis in the care and custody of the apparatus manufacturer. The certificate(s) shall: describe the chassis; give the Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.) of the chassis; state its value and name the Bryn Athyn Fire Company as an additional named insured A.T.I.M.A.

A letter from the contractor’s lending institution(s) signed by (a) competent officer(s) thereof describing the chassis; giving the Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.) of the chassis, recognizing that the Bryn Athyn Fire Company is the sole owner of the chassis and that the lending institution has no financial interest in or claim upon the chassis."

    Good luck!
