Just saying hello to everyone on here. I should have joined years ago but the thought never crossed my mind. I am the training officer on the Fremont Fire Department here which is all volunteer. I am also the training officer for the Waupaca County HAZMAT Team. I have been doing this for 9 years now. I actually became a firefighter days before 9/11.
I wanted to join this forum because our department is going through some major changes. We currently have no by-laws and no SOG's. We also have a chief that is 69 and doesn't seem to want to retire. Since we have no by-laws, a few of us decided to write some and we will be submitting them next week to the fire board so the chief can be removed. I hope it works because so far the fire board is dragging their feet. We need to get organized like the rest of the country. I would imagine some of you can relate to this since I have heard stories about this sort of happening to other departments. Anyways, if anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it.
