Did you by any chance ask about those who did not receive a phone call how they will be notified about their rank or anything else?

No i didn't feel free to call Chesapeake human resources and talk to Mary Beth Nienaber she deals with the Fire entrance process. let us know if u find anything out

I just made a call to human resources to ask some more questions and they told me that they have not heard anything on the hiring status yet. She gave me Sandy Champion's phone number but she was not there when I tried to call. Has anyone recieved a call?

Ummm if they called those who are moving ahead, there is no reason or obligation on their part to call those who aren't. Most HR's do not have the time to call the also rans.

just called today as well and they said that no calls have been made yet but they will be making calls "through december" she also said that they will be posting new information on the chesapeake fire website.

okay Chesapeake Fire is going to be hiring 33 recruits. They selected 5 people for each slot there hiring for, so roughly 150 applicants ( give or take) will move on to the next step in the hiring process. When I called down today I talked to Mary Beth Nienaber who deals with Fire entrance process (like i stated before). She told me ALL calls have been made to applicants advancing on to the next phase.

No idea who you talked to but I personally know 3 people who all got calls.


IF you didn't get a call, then unfortunately your not progressing to the next phase. She said the list will stay active and in the past they have hired off the same list more then once. For those of us who did not get the call, Like CaptOldTimer said Firm up your testing techniques and skills and cross your fingers they hire off this list again. we'll probably get something in the mail or they will post a list of where people stand but I'm its not on the top of HR list of things to do.

I called and was told that if I wasn't contacted then I was not selected for the next phase of the hiring process. I was informed that they might hire off this same list again though. I asked for a number but was not provided with one.

I didn't make it to the next round but know 2 others that did. I know one of them received a conditional job offer yesterday, he just needs poly medical and physical now.

I got a call a few weeks ago, don't remember the exact date. I just signed a conditional offer before I took the poly and passed that, medical is oct 18th.

I hope that's soon enough to start the November 1st academy like they are shooting for.

She said they had 4 people that turned down job offers, so It might be pushed back to December 1st, I was like what?! who turns down a job?!

secretary called to confirm and someone should be calling in a week or so to have me come down to the warehouse for uniform and turnout gear sizing.
