    Default Background check..

Was curious to know if as long as you have NO misdemeanors or felonies or driving violations do you meet the requirements of a background check? Would a disorderly conduct charge dismiss a potential candidate?

Possibly. There are lots of variables in a background. Financial history/stability. ANY criminal history, whether convicted, arrested or cited, theft, drugs, physical confrontations, etc. And they want to know about stuff regardless if you were caught or not. Time heals some things, but not all. There is seldom a 100% definitive answer as to what will disqualify you as they often look at the "whole person" and not a single incident (unless it's like murder or something extreme). If you got caught shoplifting 15 years ago when you were 12, it might not be a big deal. But a disorderly conduct last month might be a major concern. Be honest and upfront during the background. They will usually use a polygraph to verify what you have disclosed.
