I've been lucky so far.... I'm two for two on regional grants.
That said, looking for some thoughts on a future grant application.
Our dept co-owns our building with the towns ambulance association. Its a 50-50 split on all building and ground maintenance, cost, etc.
We'd like to apply for vehicle exhaust system. Since the benefit of the grant would be for two separate organizations, would this qualify as a regional grant?
I don't think we can apply for it on our own, since we'd need three drops - and only have two apparatus. The EMS would be the third, but isn't owned by us.
Before putting alot of thought/energy on this, thought I'd see what others thought.

Wouldn't be a regional, and you can ask for all drops for both sides since it's a shared building. Just have to explain that in the narrative.

How many Departments were you applying for Blake? I just come from our Co. Fire As. meeting and they want to get someone to write one for our County. They want to try for the same kind of equipment I got awarded. We have 14 Fire Departments and this is the first time I can remember that everyone was on the same page for anything. Haven’t the rules changed though for the regional apps in 2010? I was told it would have to be more than one county. Have you heard anything about that from the workshops?
Thanks

Regionals are still defined as 1 or more eligible applicants, so only takes 2 departments to make one. It does have to go beyond a local municipal boundary, so can't be 2 departments from the same city/town, has to be most or all of a county to really have a shot.
