Vail, CO Wildfire mitigation crewmember

Has anyone had any experience with this program, or know much about it. I applied for it and have an interview coming up. The job description said they MAY be assigned to fires, but I was wondering if they get good fire-line experience, or is it mainly fuels reduction work. Any advice would be great- thanks!!

I would assume you would have a possibility in going to a Fire but not likely as for the feds the handcrew titles are usually only Forestry Aid GS-3 or Forestry Technician GS-4. It sounds like fuels reduction or maybe doing a lot of thinning. Couldnt hurt to call!
