The Nitro was a ammo supply ship out of NJ. Not a good place for a fire. I was the OSL for the flying squad, A&I team and repair party 2

Amateurs practice until they get it right; professionals practice until they cannot get it wrong. Which one are you?

'The fire went out and nobody got hurt' is a poor excuse for a fireground critique.

Hey Crabby, I used to be a Civilian FF at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Was on the AF several times for inspections, drill, etc. I am also a member of the Zuni Maritime Association, we are restoring the historic USCGC Tamaroa WMEC-166(originally the USS Zuni ATF-95.) Occasionally, prior to final disposal, MARAD opens up decommissioned ships to museum groups to come aboard and "get what you can." The rule is, if you can get it off by unbolting or disassembling (no torches allowed, battery powered sawzalls are ok) and you can carry it off, you can have it. We did manage to get a lot of stuff before she was let go to Metro Machine down in Chester.
