Who has electric powered Jaws?

Looking for info since we are going to spend some grant money on a new set of jaws. We want another combination tool.
We have been using the Kinman tool for 20 years now and love them but of course, Roger died and the company is gone now.
Yes, it is a heavy tool but it works better than anything else I have used over the years. Weight is Not an issue to us.
It has the 12 volt hydraulic power unit that hooks to a vehicle battery and we love it and want to know who has the same type setup out there.
Basically we dont want an engine powered unit for several reasons- Noise, another engine to maintain, etc.
and no, we dont want the self contained tools with the rechargeable 24 volt batteries. we have had lots of bad luck with rechargeable batteries.
Any info and / or help appreciated.

It has a hydraulic power unit which hooks to a 12 volt vehicle battery for its power.

We have a powerhawk unit... but it's all electric, not hydraulic at all.

We still have a few Powerhawks floating around the department. They have all been taken off the rescues and distributed among engine companies now though. It got to the point that for anything more than popping a door or a simple cut we were having to call another truck with hydrualic tools.

They have thier place, but heavy vehicle extrication is not it.

Didnt say i favored Powerhawk...just that it is there... Hurst used to offer a 12vdc hydrualic power unit...not sure they do anymore but i am sure you are able to look as easy as i can.

Having used the Kinman,Powerhawk and just about every Rescue tool out there I WOULD NOT be looking at the PH or Kinman if I were UPGRADING my tools. While both the PH and the Kinman have their place,NEITHER one compares favorably to a late model HRT. As vehicles become more and more exotic in build,the marginal electric tool will fall by the wayside. If you don't want a gas engine to maintain how about conventional HRT's with an electric pump? My suggestion: Look at ALL the systems out there,pick 6 or so that interest you,do your homework,then schedule demo drills. Then go to bid. T.C.

I should probably add that we use the powerhawk on our engines, we also have a mutual aid rescue company coming on anything dispatched as requiring extrication. It's a first step, time saver sort of tool, not an only option tool.
