I was in the first 50 vehicles submitted last year and didn't get awarded, this year I intend to be in the last 50 submitted and see if it changes my luck. Computer glitches and the like.

Will not even touch the application until Thursday. I never submit the application until the Tuesday before the deadline. That time frame has always been good to me....why tempt fate now.

WOW I am really surprised at the low numbers. Is everyone waiting to the last day? I am almost done with my FO app. but still a lot to do on the FV app. That one is making my hair turn gray, or grayer I should say. The physicals and training has thrown a monkey wrench in the vehicle applications. How do you ask a volunteer to take off work to do all that is required of them just to volunteer at a non paying job? I have a great bunch of guys that has been with me for a long time but I think you can ask too much of them. If they feel like they are begin used as free labor then they will just stop coming and I think this is what this administration wants or at least it looks that way to me. The ones that are in the highest branch of work that is in this field of service with their class A uniforms probably has even been in a volunteer fire department. If they had they might have a little more respect for the men and women that lay it on the line and do it for no pay.

Glad I went ahead and done this early. After getting hit with a 1000 year flood a couple of weeks back barely have had time to keep up reading the boards much less be wracking my brain trying to write a grant.

The way government is growing we'll all be working for one level of government one way or another.
