    Default Going over on cost

    Hello all,

When getting back bids for our turnout gear, the bids for the sets we feel meet our department best based on interoperability, delivery date, etc turned out to be over what we were alloted by the grant specifications. We do have money in the bank that we can use to cover this overage. Do any of you know if this is permissible?

You can spend beyond the grant budget out of your pocket (no additional federal $ though).

Did you lowball your grant? You can get great gear for th $1500 allowable for coat/pant. Can even get in Advance in overpriced as MP or Globe.
