    Default Generator Success

Of those successful in 2009 for a station generator, what was the occupancy and department demographic? (Career, combination, volunteer)

    Thanks.

Look where it falls in the priority list.

It's a looooooooong shot at best.

This year with less funding, probably even longer odds.

As of this morning 4May2010 there are more than 600 diesel gensets listed as available on DOD surplus site.

Including 200 5kw mounted on 3/4t trailer. civilain rating would be around 8kw. On the small side but very nice heavy duty units. You could easily get$1000 selling the trailer off. That will pay for your install expense.

Sorry for getting off thread here, but how does one go about getting this DOD surplus? I ahve tried searching sites and seems very confusing.

Contact your state forester. They administer program. You'll likely have to go pickup up at DOD depot. New program FPP you get title. Old program FEPP you get on loan.

Letterkenny is major depot for generators. The 5k trailer mounted I mentioned are located there.
