    Default Overseas Firefighting help...

My name is Travis Rivera; I was a firefighter for the Fort Riley Fire Department in Kansas. I was laid off after working there for 9 months and I moved home. I am originally from Santa Barbara California. I was wondering if WSI is still hiring firefighters for overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan? I was going to apply a few years ago, but I didnt. I know there is a Class Action Law Suit against them. But I really need a job, and I would really like to get a firefighting job, so thats why I figure I would try WSI. I have read tons of the threads about WSI and I know that they are not really that great of a company to work for but I figure I would try. I need the job for the money, but I would also like to get the experience as well. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Don't sweat the class action lawsuit, it doesn't effect anything that's going on with mission. WSI is hiring and so is ITT. If you're unemployed and are looking for a means of a very good income, check them out! First step to getting on with any of them is getting your passport. Good luck.

The process can be fairly quick if all your ducks are in a row, I sent my resume in on the 5th of April, received a application packet 3 days later, had a phone interview on the 15th, received my large packet on the 27th. and I deploy June 7th. As long as you make sure all your Certs. are up to date and your passport is valid it will go quick. As soon as you get you packets, send them back as soon as you can. Any other questions about the process let me know. I just finished the rest of the paperwork in today so its fresh in my head. Take care all and good luck!!

    Default Deployment Length

I recently saw an add for an 82 day deployment to Qatar. I though most deployments were for a year or more. Are three month deployments rare or have I just missed them before?
