Default What is the service life on rescue equipment?

What is the expected life of jaws, spreaders and airbags etc?

    Thanks

I know there is a suggested life on high pressure lifting bags, but I am not sure if there is one on hydraulic tools or not? Bugle your the standards expert here, any input??

Nothing in the standards that I know of. I have used 15 years as the service life for the equipment.

My town government would say around 150 years.

I wonder why they say that for every request?

A lot of it depends on manufacturers. From my experience/understanding, the HRT's and power units can be used indefinitely so long as they are maintained and tested as prescribed. The hoses and air bags typically have a life-span due to the compounds used for them. These typically vary with manufacturer, but most I know of are in the 10-15 year range.
