Just wanted to greet everyone! I found this site thru google and I'm currently studying/training to get into the Honolulu Fire Department here on Oahu. Really competitive to get in.
I mainly signed up to see if if any of ya'll could help me find some resources to help me gain that edge over fire applicants when the time comes for recruiting.
I came across fireprep.com and was looking to buy the ultimate package. What you guys think? I'm doing P90x right now to help me gain some endurance and lung strength. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Yes,
You can get a Fire Science degree or associates degree.
Or you can join the military with am emphasis in firefighting as your MOS.
You can also join a top rated volunteer or combination department. Hopefully one that has overnight bunk facilities. I know of some candidates that attended fire college and bunked at a volunteer station in return for their volunteer membership.
There has got to be many other roads to take. Get started. Be unbeatable.
