New Chaplain
To all who have an ear:
I was commissioned by my denomination (Southern Baptist) last Fall to be the Chaplain (Volunteer) of the Germantown, (TN) Fire Dept. I have 30 years of ministry experience in many areas and venues of the Gospel Ministry. I have been a Church Planter in a Cross-Cultural setting, have written and been published author, been an overseas short-term missionary to Russia and Honduras, taught religion in College for 10 years, inter-city pastor, interim pastor, country pastor, et al. My main ministry is in higher education.
I have taught a Sunday morning Bible Class at station houses in Memphis and Germantown off and on for about 25 years. I always take a box of donuts with me when I go.
I must say with all my ministry experience and background; I have never loved anything as much, or found any facet of ministry as rewarding as teaching the Bible to the firefighters and serving as Chaplain to the Dept.
I salute you. It is my job to serve those who serve. I pray for all who read this that you may have a safe day and that our Lord Christ will protect you and get you home to your loved ones at the end of your shift.
Please get back to me with ideas questions or prayer requests. I am here to serve. :D
