    Default ATTN- Non-Profit 501c3 orgs!!!!!

Read an article today that all of you should be aware of. I know your focus is on the AFG grant right now but a little deadline has slipped up on many and the IRS is now requiring that all non-profits file a 990N form or they will lose their tax exempt status and be removed from the official list after January first. That means you cannot offer a tax credit for a donation to donors and this could badly affect your donations yearly. Don't delay, get your lawyer or tax person to get this form filed ASAP!!

This is not a new requirement for 501c corporations. It just seemed to fly under the radar of some folks that weren't paying attention to their accountants advice.

I htink the gist was that previously if you did not file for three years in a row uyour would be removed from the list and they changed that in what I was reading to say you MUST file it this year or you would lose it.
