Default RIT Funding Question ? ?

Has anyone had sucess with funding for personal bailout systems when paired with RIT equipment ? Looking at the Sterling FireTech Escape System and Xtreme Rescue Class II Escape Belt for each RIT team member.

Looking to submit this with request for RIT equipment (RIT Pack, RIT Rope, TIC, Vent Saw, K-12 Saw, Stokes Litter, etc) as a Rapid Intervention Team Project request.

Also looking for any RIT narratives that may be out there to compare with what I have thus far. If you have one you are willing to share please email it to me, ejfeicht@zoominternet.net

Why just RIT? If everyone has them might be able to avoid deploying RIT. Been done.

Actually our goal is to have all of our interior certified personnel receive RIT training allowing all interior personnel to be able to function in the RIT team roles. Each of them would be equipped with these systems.

I'm still looking for a narrative if anyone has one to share.

From the way you put it the bailout would only be given to RIT members, meant everyone gets one whether or not they've been through the class. 2 different animals between Saving Your Own and RIT, SYO needs bailout kits on all firefighters long before some should be going through RIT and standing by for it. $.02 from former TO.

    Default Correct Catagory

Should the bailout equipment be submitted as PPE or as equipment ?

I thought it was specifically listed in PPE, if not run it under other since it's definitely that category.

Did 3-4 pf them for NY departments this year and used the "other PPE" selection.
