Hey everyone I am new to ARFF in a way. I just accepted an ARFF job and can't wait to start. I have been around it for sometime as I am in the airport operations field and I took one ARFF class in college. I will be moving from civilian airport ops into a civilian position on a military field so I am sure I am up for a lot of changes. All of my experience up to this point has been on a standard "structural" department. Any ideas on what to expect?

Long days of watching planes go by.
Depends on what type of place you are at, is it strickly military or civilian/ military airport??
will be a learning curve on how to deal with aircraft, and rescue from different aircraft.
Which flavor of miltary navy, air force, ??? that also depends on what goes on
what are your shifts 24 on 24 off, or 24 on 48 off or ?????
