    I've been going through the process since last year. Ranking is based solely on test score, and a lotto number you pick at the test that breaks ties. Applying early will not score you any points.

    glad they went to lotto system for tie breaker, they use to make you stand in line forever as the tie breaker

    I have my app ready to be sent on tuesday. How big and how many classes does SAFD run a year?

    I requested an app via email (outside 100 mile area) on the day you were allowed to. I hope it comes soon.

    Seems like the last few years, SA has been getting out 2 for sure and sometimes 3 classes of 30-40. Couldn't guess what this year holds, with several projects and rumors of projects in the works ( New houses slated, then not, then projected again... New double companies, special teams, etc... ). But my money would be on at least two 30+ classes: my best guess.

    Still haven't received my application packet that I requested via email. I will be calling tomorrow.
