    Default Give Him Hope

Hey folks those of you who have been in here for any length of time know lvfdmichael as one of my colleaques and a regular contributor in here as one of the other FFs and grant gurus also. While struggling through this AFG season with his workload of AFG applications he discovered his wife has cancer. I can relate to this as I lost my first wife to cancer also.He is doing a cancer ride for the center treating his wife:

How about everyone giving him some words of encouragement here. He has helped many in here, for many years. Time to pay it forward to a brother!
Stay strong Mike, thoughts and prayers with you and yours in this fight!

I think everyone has a link to cancer. You and your wife are in the prayers of all of your brothers and sisters of the Van Hornesville FD. My wife and Daughter just walked in the 1st. annual Relay for Life in Amsterdam NY. the event raised over $50,000.00 for cancer research.

Thoughts and prayers from my station here, we have our walk tomorrow, and have several members who have had family members with cancer and one of our previous firefighters, and we always walk in honor of them.

    Mike : Think POSITIVE:
My sister was diagnosed with Cancer 11 years ago this month. Originally given 1-2 years max expectancy. She has proven all of them wrong and is currently still cancer free.
There were a few rough months with the chemo + radiation, But since then she's been fine.
    Prayers going your way.

    Mike,

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 days before our wedding ( 28 years old, 1992). Surgery, chemo, radiation for our first year of marriage. 4 great kids born after that. 14 years later (2006) Again diagnosed with breast cancer (2nd primary cancer, not spread of 1st). Surgery, chemo again. treatments offerred in 2006 were based on study she was in during 1992. Always new treatments and medical advancements being made.

There is some tough road ahead in the short term, however many great things lie ahead of this road for you to enjoy together. Stay strong. Know that you have the support and prayers of your friends and associates. Don't be afraid to accept the offers of assistance and support during this time. This was a lesson I had some difficulty with. I was used to being the provider of support, not the recipient. The help that is being offerred is only a small amount of what you have given being returned to you.

Best Wishes, Good Luck and God Bless,
    Chris

    Default Thanks everyone

Thanks for the support and encouragement here on on my fund raising page. Seems as thought the more problems I have the more friends I have. Wife is in testing and appointments this week, I assume chemo starting next week.
