Really guys, Roman has a better handle on the English language and grammar than one of the guys I work with.

Roman, thank you for the condolences of the September, 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It is deeply appreciated from all those around the world.

Basically, we have 2 types of Fire Departments in the U.S.A. One type is the Volunteer Department, where no one gets paid to do the job. They volunteer their time to make the fire call, and do not live in the Fire Station. The second is a Career Department. They are paid to make the call, and live at the Fire Station. Not all Career Departments pay the same, as well, work the same hours. 1 years salary is anywhere from $25,000 to $35,000 for the first year Fire Fighter working about 2,912 hours per year. Other cities will be different.

People here look at Fire Fighters as idiots for running into a burning building (ha-ha). But they love to see them there, when they are needed. They know things will be OK, when they see them coming.

    Welcome to our humble forum.
