Question US Fish & Wildlife RFA 2010

Has anyone heard about the awards from the Dept. of the Interior's Rural Fire Assistance for 2010 managed by US Fish & Wildlife Service? I believe the awards were supposed to be announced in May 2010, however we have not heard anything on ours?

For those who have never heard of this, it is a program for departments that have a national wildlife refuge or a national fish hatchery or other US Fish & Wildlife property within their district and a population of less then 10,000. I believe it was offered in 2004, 2008 and 2010? The application was sent to us directly in Jan. 2010.

I heard back today from US Fish & Wildlife that no awards have been made yet. I guess that is better news then the DJ we got in 08.

I saw a nearby department post an award just yesterday. Maybe they're just now getting out there.

In Oregon, the RFA (Dept of Interior; NPS, BLM, US F&WS, BIA) have not been awarded due to uncertainty in funding levels. The VFA (USFS) awards have been posted.

I spoke with Mary Hellen Smith who runs the grants for Oregon forestry, and she said the funding just came in, and awards will be made in next 3 weeks (last week=week 0)
