    Default DOD certs for civillians.

Anyone know how a civilian can get DOD Fire certs? I'm trying to get a job overseas and I need IFSAC, Proboard, or DOD Driver Operator certification and no college in the state of Florida can accredit it through IFSAC or Proboard. My only other option is try and get certified through DOD. Any advice?

Then find an agency that can. Both IFSAC and the Pro Board list every agency that they certify on their websites.

(And please don't spam the forums. One questions, one posting. )

You are incorrect Sir. If you went to the Fire Academy in Florida, you are Pro Board eligible. Pay your 15 bucks and job done.

My apologies, misread first time. It is your Driver Operator you are trying to get IFSAC or Proboard recognized....I missed that.

Who is requiring that? Neither Wsi or Dyncorp require it...

ITT/FLUOR want Driver Ops and it has to be IFSAC, Proboard or DOD.

I'm a volunteer FF in NJ with 7 years experience in an urban area, have my FF1, FF2, Hazmat awareness/ops/ICS-200, 300, 400, NIMS, CBRNE, and many others... but I don't beleive they are IFSAC or Proboard... where can I get a list of agencys in NJ or out of state that can provide me with the ability to convert the certs?

    Thanks.

As mentioned upthread, both organizations publish lists of accredited agencies on their websites.

You can also go to DODffcert.com if you have IFSAC or NPQS (PROBOARD) certs and submit them yourself. I did that after I got my IFSAC/ NPQS Firefighter I & II and HazMat Awareness & Ops from Bucks County Community College. I had to tell them that I was not with a DOD Fire Department and that I wanted the DOD certs to help me get hired. They told me that if I was hired by a DOD Fire Department my certs would eventually be converted to DOD certs, but I did it anyways, and they let me do it. If you have any questions or need any help shoot me an email, firefightertravis@hotmail.com and I'll see what I can do to help you.

I donít care what all of you think about Bucks, it was a great school! I had a great time there and the training was really good. Even though I had already completed the Allan Han**** College Fire Academy in 2005, Class 105! The training staff there was really awesome, and helpful. I made some lifelong friends there with the staff and the guys I went to the school with! **** one of the instructors there, Jeff Glenn, let me run calls with his Volunteer Fire Department, and he even let me do live burns with him and his Department! One of the best guys I have ever become friends with! Plus I got to hang out with the Warminster Fire Department guys, some retired Philly firefighters, I even went to a bar owned by a Philly firefighter, and I made a trip to NYC to see some FDNY stations and the WTC!! It was one of the best times of my life!
